Gold City will perform for a free Southern Gospel concert on Feb 8 from 7-9pm at the First Baptist Orlando Worship Center, 3000 S. John Young Parkway.

With over 40 albums since 1984, Gold City has received numerous awards and nominations from Southern Gospel News (SGN) and over 60 Singing News Fan awards including Albums of the Year, Songs of the Year, Groups of the Year and Individuals of the Year. In fact, they have won every significant Southern Gospel music award.

The Mississippi group was originally called Christianairs, but were renamed Gold City in Dahlonega, Georgia in 1980. At that time, the group consisted of bass Dallas Gilliland, tenor Bob Oliver, lead singer Jerry Ritchie, and baritone Ken Trussell.

After a series of changes throughout the group's 25 year history, the current members include:

Aaron McCune- Bass
Bruce Taliaferro - Lead
Daniel Riley - Baritone
Josh Simpson - Piano
Steve Ladd - Tenor

Phillip Chambers, of Grace Broadcating Services in Jackson, Tennessee, said that “Gold City’s biggest asset is their unparalleled dedication to Ministry. On more than one occasion, I have witnessed Gold City deliver a God given introduction, for the exact perfect song, at the exact perfect moment in somebody’s life in our church."

Removing themselves from the limelight, the group "wants Jesus to be the center of attention - not Gold City."

A love offering will be taken at the concert.
